Topic- a rewarding moment 2. A. The results were good, I raised around one- hundred dollars to be exact $ 105.50 and then bought products to give to the homeless and when I gave it to them, and they were grateful. B. I accomplished my goal because I wanted to raise one hundred dollars and wanted to make the homeless happy, and they were. C. No, it is also successful because I got to spread awareness and feel good inside. Also this project inspired me to do more for my community to make it a better place. D.I would describe it influential, because out of thousands of the homeless I got to help a few but others got to be inspired, so maybe they can go out and do it too. E. I got good feedback. All the homeless I served were very grateful and they really thought it was a nice thing to do. Also, I got feedback from my peers saying it was a great thing I did. Reflection essay- Mother Teresa ( who is dedicated to the poor) once said," We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked, and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty..." This quote is right because the homeless are unwanted and uncared for, even though they have a place on the Earth just like the rest of us. The service project let me see the homeless different than I use to and that is a rewarding moment . First, I asked my peers and made flyers asking for donations so I can give it to the homeless. People started giving money and calling us to donate money. I soon got to raise $105.50 to buy items for the homeless. Unfortunately some of the homeless use money to buy drugs, so that's why I decided to buy the correct and essential things for the homeless. I put all of the items in bags and went to an area in Lake Elsinore and found homeless people collected bottles so they can get just a little bit of money. My dad went up to them and I followed ( because homeless can sometimes be mental and my dad doesn't want me to get injured) and I explained about my service project and gave them a bag of the items. I did this to about 10 but they didn't want to be on camera. This was the hard work I did to accomplish my goals. Then, I felt more that a good feeling inside, I felt empathy for the homeless. That's when I realized the items would last a few weeks, but what they need is love, support and a place to get back on their feet. The quote from Mother Teresa and the project inspired me to do more. I wanted to raise even more money and do something more effective. I want to start an group that can help build shelters that provide support, food, clothes, beds, etc. This is a lot for a 11 year old girl, but you can do anything if you put your mind to it. In conclusion, when you do little things, like a service project, you and others can get inspired to do more. Helping the homeless is a way to make our world a better place and let everyone have a good life and great opportunities. What are you waiting for, YOU CAN DO GREAT THINGS! 1. It will help the homeless that are in need of essential items that we used to live a healthy and good life.
2. A. I interviewed Julia from the girl scout troops. The girls scouts help the homeless by going to shelters and kitchens. This impacts her life because she always feels empathy for them, and it impacts the girl scouts because they help people and the homeless are truly in need. She said it would help if we were to produce more kitchens, shelters, and more Salvation Armies. B. There are about 3.5 million homeless people or 35% out of our population. The crazy part is of that 3.5 million, 57,849 are people who served our country. Their are some agencies working to meet the needs of the homeless like Salvation Army, Sea World, Zendesk. They are offering jobs, homes, and the Salvation Army offers camps, recreation programs, food assistance, holiday programs, housing aid and activity centers. Also rehab for some adults. C. Watch9-Year-Old's Garden Harvest Tackles Homelessness When Hailey Fort was just 5 years old, she spotted a homeless man in Kitsap County, Washington where she lives. She asked her mom whether she could help him. Her mom said yes, and for the last four years, that's what Hailey's been doing: helping the homeless, with the help of her mom. She plans to build 12 mobile shelters this year. The recipient of the first shelter, Hailey's mom Miranda Fort told ABC News, is a man named Edward. "She [Hailey] went through all of her homeless friends and made the decision based on a number of things. This shelter doesn't have a place for a wheelchair, so it wasn't a good fit for Billy Ray. Similarly, it wasn't a good fit for her friend Tonka, a dog, and his owner. Edward stuck out because he has always been so gracious when receiving food." Miranda said the family has already met with the city to make sure the shelter won't cause a problem though its exact location has not yet been determined. "Our city ordinance on the issue states that it can be placed on a church lot. We have a few leads on churches that will allow his structure, but for Edward's safety we aren't disclosing where." Food is another one of Hailey's priorities. She grows fruits and vegetables, and hopes to grow 250 pounds for the homeless this year. She's begun documenting her progress on a Facebook page "Hailey's Harvest." The homeless, her mom said, are people she counts as her friends. It's that friendship, in part, that keeps her going. "Hailey is repeatedly told that she can stop at any time but she continues because this is her passion. I think a lot has to do with setting such high goals and then the rush she gets when she meets them." In addition to the 12 mobile shelters and 250 pounds of food: 1000 toiletries, 500 feminine hygiene products and 100 coats. She's trying to raise $1,000 on her GoFundMe page and is about three-fourths of the way there. The community has been supportive of Hailey's efforts. The cost to build one shelter, her mom said, is about $300, but the reason that price is so low is because she gets many items donated. The walls are made of pallets, which are stuffed with recycled denim insulation. The structure has a shingled roof, drywall, wood siding, and vinyl flooring. The house will have window curtains, a solar-powered lamp and most importantly, a lock on the front door. Hailey's dad Quentin, said Hailey's -- and Miranda's -- selflessness "comes from a place which seems foreign to most but seems completely natural to them." "It is no surprise to me that Hailey is this selfless with Miranda as an example, I am immensely proud of the contributions Hailey has made and will continue to make to her community. I just hope we, as parents, can do enough to satiate her desire to help those in need." What is the goal of your class service project: My goal is to encourage others to realize the hard lives the homeless have to live. I also want to spread awareness. Planning and preparation: It will take time to plan everything and decide where. I will need a bag, and essentials items like toothbrush, water, food, gift cards, clothes, etc. Implementing the service Activity- I will drive to places like abandoned buildings, roads, bridges, shelters and give then bags full of good things. Reflection- I want my idea to accomplish making a homeless person feel wanted and good inside. Also they can have items they normally don't have to have a good few days. Demonstration/celebration: I will tell others by spreading awareness and posting pictures on social media accounts. I could also tell my friends, teachers, school, and family Jewish people, are have four central beliefs that impact how they live. According to the article Monotheism (the belief in one God) is an important central belief. One way Monotheism was important to the Jewish is because Monotheism points to the ten commandments. The Ten Commandments are the rules God gave the Jewish to follow. They live their lives fallowing the rules because if you keep God's laws, you are equal in his sight. Second, Abraham ( the Jews refer to him as the founding Father) says polytheism is an illusion. Abraham strongly believes their is one God and one God who created this universe. Abraham made the reality of God the most important thing in the world. The Jewish would listen to their leader. In conclusion, Monotheism plays a big roll in the Jewish's lives.
Moses (full name unknown) was a great Hebrew leader. He died at the age of 120 . All 120 years he lived, he made a difference for the Hebrews. Many people called him the greatest leader of the Hebrews. When he was little, his was put in a river by his mother to then go to someone else who can serve him a better life. One amazing thing he did was he lead the Hebrews out of slavery from the Egyptians with God's help. Also, God gave him the ten Commandments and he then gave them to the Hebrews. His was very loved by his mother and father Amram and Jochebed. He had two spouses named Zipporah and Cushite. Then, Moses had two children named Gershom and Eliezer. Lastly he had realities named Aaron and Miriam. May Moses rest in piece knowing he is loved and greatly appreciated. His Funeral will be held March 5, around 3000bce at the burning bush at 5:00. Please bring an artifact with u that u want him to have. Egypt's long history is very interesting. First, they create new things that help how they live like hieroglyphics. Second, how they formed their society like a pyramid with different life styles for the different levels of classes. Then, how powerful Egypt enslaved the Kushites, but Moses then leads the Hebrews out of Egypt and moved to Canaan(present day Israel). Next, powerful Egypt became weak and was conquered by Kush only for 100 years. Lastly, the Romans attempt to take over Egypt but fail so they sign a peace treaty. In conclusion, Egypt has a crazy history.
I think out of all the pharaohs, Khufu, Senusret , Hatshepsut, and Ramses, Hatshepsut was the most successful because she was the first Female pharaoh in Egypt and encouraged trade. Trade is important because this can create allies and introduce the Egyptians to new things/materials. Also, being the first female pharaoh in Egypt is successful because it shows she is powerful, and that is great to have in a leader. Picture below.
Their are three main different groups my class will study . The Egyptians, the Kushites, and the Hebrews. Kushites Egyptians Hebrews
